New Delhi: The 74th Republic Day will be celebrated on 26 January, 2023. Every year the spectacular Republic Day parade is always the highlight of the celebration. This year, the parade is set to be held at the newly christened Kartavya Path. To make the celebrations more accessible, the government has announced that 32,000 tickets will be available for the general public and that e-ticket holders can avail of a free metro ride to the venue.
Invitees and ticket holders with valid invitation cards/tickets along with a government-issued photo ID will be granted access to the event. Sale of tickets, invitation cards, and car parking labels are being issued online through a dedicated portal amantran.mod.gov.in. This will ensure the process is secure and paperless, allowing people from all parts of the country to attend the event.
Republic Day e-tickets purchased online would include a QR code and these tickets may be used to receive a token for free riding to the stations near the event at metro stations when presented with them.
The two metro stations located near the Kartavya Path are Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat. On Republic Day, those possessing digital tickets for seats at the venue will be able to avail of a free metro ride to these two stations.
