New Delhi: Preparations are in full swing in the wake of Republic Day celebrations. Security has been beefed in the national capital particularly on all metro stations.

As a result long queues of commuters can be witnessed at entry points to the platforms.

On Monday evening, there was a long queue of passengers at Barakhambha metro station after office hours.

Miffed with the delay, people shared their "ordeal" with City Spidey. "Before initiating such steps, DMRC must issue a circular in public interest. We are getting late and the longer wait is quite agonising."

It was the same scene at Laxminagar metro station. People standing in serpentine queue was enough to tell the story.

However, around 6.15 PM City Spidey saw a long queue of people at gate number 6 and 5 at Barakhambha metro station. It took almost half an hour to board the metro.

Metro officials said that the security checks had been increased in the wake of Republic Day.
