Dwarka: On the night of January 19, 2023, at around 8pm, several stretches in the service lanes and main roads in Sector 17 and 18, Dwarka were engulfed in darkness.

The stretch that leads from Sarvahit Apartments, Sector 17 towards the Delhi Government School, Sector 17 and Dwarka North Police Station was not lit properly due to dense trees on the side of the road. Though the street lights in the stretch were functioning properly, the stretch was dark as the lights were hidden due to dense overgrown trees. The service lane in front of Keshav Kunj Apartments, Sector 17 was also dark. While there were street light poles and bulbs in place, they were not functioning.

Further, the wide stretch on the main road from Crescent Apartments till Pink Apartments Sector 18 was also found dark. The darkness was due to dense trees and also non functional bulbs on street light poles.

According to the residents of the area, the issue of these dark stretched is a prolong one and nothing has been done about it so far. They say that there is a need for the authorities concerned to do the needful.
