36th International Handicrafts Fair begins at Faridabad's Surajkund

Faridabad: Every year, the Surajkund fair is decorated with a different theme. This year is no different. The theme states of the fair are Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura. This year, people can enjoy everything from the cultural events to the foods of these states at the fair from February 3 to February 19, 2023.

The Surajkund fair is an important place to showcase India's rich cultural history. In 1987, the first Surajkund fair was held. Its main goal is to spread the word about India's beautiful arts.

People at the Fair will be able to try food from the North Eastern states this year. Fifty different food stands are being set up here. At the fair, you can eat everything from pizza to bajra roti. You can also try Chahao Kheer from Manipur, Fruit Chat from Meghalaya, Bhangui Biryani from Tripura, Bajra Roti and Kadhi from Haryana, and Bamboo Biryani from the North Eastern states.

A ticket is needed to go to the Surajkund fair. Many things at this fair cost between 50 and 100 rupees. This year, artists and craftspeople from 45 different countries will also showcase folk art, traditions, and cultures from their home countries at the Surajkund fair. This number is almost twice as high as last year’s.

This time, you can also buy Surajkund Mela tickets through Book My Show. Online tickets will get a 10% discount on weekends and holidays and a 5% discount on other days. On weekends and holidays, the price of a ticket is Rs 180, and on other days, it is Rs 120. Tickets will be cheaper for handicapped people, people over the age of 60, and college students.

Mela is open every day from 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Badarpur Metro Station and Tughlakabad Station on the Violet Line is the closest metro station to Surajkund.
