It’s that time of the year again, and the NCR is set to groove the night away! Here's what it has planned:

Ghaziabad

Not only are popular bands slated to perform at hotels such a Radisson Blu, and various restaurants and pubs, even societies in Vaishali, Vasundhara, Kaushambi and Indirapuram have made special arrangements to usher in 2017 with a bang.

Exotica Elegance, in Ahinsa Khand 2, Indirapuram, has planned a tiara party, where all women attending will have to wear a tiara. The programme will begin at 5 pm on December 31 and participation will require an entry pass.

Gaur Valerio, in Kinauni Village, on the other hand, has roped in a DJ for celebrations, which will be held at the central park. The programme, organised by the RWA, will begin at 7 pm. There will be food and refreshments, but the best part — participation is free!

In Sector 1, Vaishali, residents plan to celebrate by cutting a cake baked by the women of the society at midnight on December 31. Charu, a resident, says, “The theme of the party is 2017, so those attending will have to have something related to 2017 on their clothes, such as on a tag or a band.”

The cultural team at SG Homes in Sector 3, Vasundhara, is organising festivities in its society. Several competitions will be held at the venue, and registrations have already started. However, only residents of the society will be able to participate.

Sectors 1, 2, 5 and 7 in Vaishali; sectors 11 and 12 in Vasundhara; and societies in Kaushambi will be celebrating New Year in neighbourhood parks. According to Tarun Tyagi, a resident of Sector 2, Vaishali, “Our celebration is being organised by the RWA and is open to all residents of the sector. There are no charges and the party is expected to go on for three hours.”

At Country Inn, a hotel on Link Road, visitors will be in for special discounts and a New Year menu. Dance performances are also on the cards.

Noida

Prateek Laurel, in Sector 120, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that New Year celebrations are a hit with residents. It has roped in a DJ, a band and well-known singers – what more could residents have asked for!

Uday Jain, AOA secretary, says, “We are ready to make the night a really special one. Besides dance and music, we have arranged games, such as Tambola. Winners will get attractive prizes.”

Eldeco Inspire has arranged a big bash at the society’s clubhouse. NK Sharma, a resident, elaborates, “Residents, including senior citizens, will gather at the club to enjoy New Year’s Eve. The cultural committee has arranged a couple of games as well. And the spread this time will be way better than what it was last year.”

Amrapali Platinum, too, is organising a party, but on a smaller scale. PM Tiwari, a resident, explains, “A few residents are organising a party, but it’s not going to be as big as the other parties in the neighbourhood, as we are yet to form our resident body.”

Residents of Gaur City Avenue can enjoy an exhibition at the society's central park, showcasing delicately embroidered kurtis and other interesting items. Sanjay Rajput, a resident, adds, “And, of course, there's a magic show! It will be a half-hour event. And lastly, there’ll be fireworks at the stroke of midnight.”

Looks like the NCR is set to have a lot of fun this 31st night!
