Delhi to witness G20 International flowers festival at CP by NDMC

Delhi is going to have an international flower festival at its heart, Connaught Place (CP) on 11 and 12 March 2023. NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) is organising the “G20 Flower Festival” at Central Park, Connaught Place, New Delhi on 11 and 12 March 2023. The objective of the two days festival is to showcase the vibrancy and colourful display of G20 members and guest countries. 

The Timings of the Festival will be from 10.00 AM to 7.00 PM. Entry will be free for the general public and will be from Gate opposite D Block. The public can also purchase their favorite Plants, Flowers, etc from various stalls. NDMC will also arrange musical and cultural programmes on the site at the Central Park Amphitheatre. 

The four G 20 countries - China, Japan, Singapore, and the Netherlands are participating in the NDMC G20 Flower Festival. The flower plants and any other plants of the Guest Countries may showcase various varieties of potted plants either locally produced or from their home country.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will also participate in NDMC G-20 Flower Festival. A large variety of seasonal and exclusive flora would be on display.

The flower festival is an opportunity for awareness amongst the general public about G20 members and guest countries with a glimpse of varieties of flowers. Flower plants of different colours and varieties will be displayed in different forms and installations. NDMC will be displaying different flower plants showcasing the diversity of the Indian Sub-continent.

NDMC will provide the required space to all the participating G20 member countries and guest countries for the flower festival. The Festival will also showcase the painting or photographs of flowers such as national flowers or major flower gardens of G20 member countries and guest countries during the Flower festival. Any flower/decoration or flower arrangements may also be exhibited during the flower festival. A painting competition will also be organised at the site amongst the school children on the theme of Flora and Fauna.

The flower show will be a festival for horticulture enthusiasts. Different sections of colorful and Vibrant flowers like Dahlias, Bougainvillea, foliage plants, Bonsai, Cactus and Succulents in potted plants, Hanging Baskets, Floral figures & boards, Tray Garden, Floral Arrangements, etc. will be displayed in different forms which shows the diversity of Indian subcontinent.
