Traffic Advisory: Closure of Carriageways on NH 48 for 90 days

Delhi Traffic Police officially announced that a full-fledged construction work has been started on Dwarka Expressway by National Highways Authority of India and due to this Carriageways of NH 48 known as Delhi-Jaipur Highway, between Rangpuri and Rajokari are closed for a period of 90 days. As per the official declaration these roads are being closed from 14th March, 2023 and it will continue to remain closed for next 90 days.

NHAI is constructing Dwarka Highways under Bharat Mala Project which will start from Dwarka Link road near Shiv Murti on NH-48 or Delhi-Jaipur Highway. Under this project 2 Underpasses and 1 elevated section will be constructed on NH-48. Both the Carriageways on NH-48 between Rangpuri and Rajokari will remain closed in order to execute this work.

Some traffic restrictions have already been imposed by the Delhi Traffic Police:

  • Traffic near from Shiv Murti intersection shall be diverted from main highway to newly constructed slip roads.
  • Closure of Carriageways may lead to extra volume of traffic and cause inconvenience to the common people.
  • People moving towards Airport/ISBT/Railway stations are advised to plan carefully and must have sufficient time in hand.

There are some alternate routes for the commuters:

  • Commuters going towards Gurugram / Jaipur or coming back from Gurugram / Jaipur may use the Mehrauli- Gurugram road.
  • Commuters travelling towards Dwarka, Kapashera or Najafgarh may use Palam Road from Gurugram Road flyover.
  • Traveler coming from Dwarka, Kapashera or Gurugram and moving towards Dhaula Kuan or Vasant Vihar may take Dwarka Flyover Road no 201.
