Noida Lift Failure Incident: 5 Out Of 9 Victims Seriously Injured

Noida: The number of seriously injured victims has increased in the elevator malfunction incident that happened at the Regenta Central Hotel in Sector 49, Noida last Friday.

Earlier, it was reported that nine people in total were injured out of which three were seriously injured. However, as per the recent update, the number of seriously injured victims has increased to five. All five victims were hospitalised at a private hospital near the Regenta Hotel.

The victims – Manoj, Kavita, Abhaya, Varun, and Dilip got seriously injured in the incident. Doctors informed CitySpidey that while Manoj and Kavita got their legs fractured, Abhaya got injuries on a knee and leg. Dilip got injuries on the shoulder and waist, while Varun got severe injuries on the leg, waist, and shoulder.

Jitendra Bansal, an officer at the Regenta Central Hotel, said, “It was an unfortunate incident. All the allegations of disruption in the elevator are baseless. We are investigating the cause of the incident. Colleagues of the victims said neither there was a sticker showing the capacity of the lift nor was the indicator working properly.”

Elevator malfunctioning incidents seem to be on the rise. A few days ago, a family got stuck for hours in a Greater Noida society, and on Sunday, a man got stuck in the lift at the Mayfair Residency Society of Greater Noida West. He was stuck in the elevator for 15 minutes.
