Summers mean working with crushers or hydrating drinks on the table. Here are some healthy summer drinks from the dairy that will not only make your body cool but will also boost your energy, instantly making you feel refreshed and hydrated to fight the heat waves and rising temperatures. 

Replace the carbonated drinks with these instantly energising and cooling dairy drinks: 

Saffron lassi 

Saffron and cardamom are 2 flavours which are commonly used in Indian desserts. We combine the same flavours in this saffron lassi!

Method:
Add half glass yoghurt to half glass chilled water 
Mix a spoonful of sugar/jaggery to it 
Dip saffron strands in warm water. Then add the saffron water 
Add a pinch of cardamom powder and salt to it 
Blend the mixture and serve chilled 

Rose lassi

The flavour of rooh-afza will make you feel nostalgic. This drink can be easily made at your home within a few minutes.

Method:
Add half glass yoghurt to half glass chilled water 
Mix a spoonful of rooh-afza 
Add a pinch of black salt to it 
Blend the mixture and serve chilled

Pineapple ginger lassi

The sweetness of pineapple pairs so well with the strong flavours of ginger in this refreshing pineapple ginger lassi!

Method:
Add half glass yoghurt to half glass chilled water 
Mix a spoonful of sugar/jaggery to it 
Add 7-8 pieces of chopped pineapple and finely chopped half – inch ginger to it 
Add a pinch of black salt to it 
Blend the mixture and serve chilled 

Raspberry coconut lassi

This lassi has a smooth texture and a fruity flavour. Raspberry and coconut combine to make this exotic drink. 

Method:
Add half glass yoghurt to half glass of coconut milk 
Add 7-8 raspberries 
Add a pinch of black salt to it 
Blend the mixture and serve chilled 

Healthy yoghurt smoothie

This summer smoothie is made from yoghurt. It keeps you cool and energises the body within a few minutes. This fruity smoothie tastes better than the bottled summer drinks. 

Method:
Blend 1 banana, half cup yogurt, half teaspoon white sugar, ¼ cup pineapple juice, 1 cup strawberries, 1 teaspoon orange juice and 1 teaspoon milk. 
Add a few ice cubes to it and serve chilled. 

Mohabbat ka sharbat 

It is a refreshing Old Delhi style drink. It has the flavours from watermelon and rose syrup. This is made with watermelon, one of our favourite summer fruits, it is mixed with chilled milk and rose syrup. This watermelon and milk-based drink gives one instant relief from the heat. 

Method:
Cut the watermelon into small cubes and freeze them 
Mix a spoonful of rose syrup into chilled milk and add the frozen watermelon pieces to it and serve chilled 

Buttermilk 

This mint chachh's chilled concoction is just the thing one needs on a hot summer afternoon. Mint chachh recipe is super quick, easy to make, and is different from regular chachh. Pudina and buttermilk both have cooling properties and together double the cooling properties. 

We have this luscious mint chachh by combining cleaned mint leaves, curd, cumin seed powder, green chili paste, black salt and blend till smooth and frothy. Further, add chilled water and blend again. Serve spicy Punjabi mint chachh immediately with mint garnish on top.
