The Union Public Service Commission recently announced the results of the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examination. Ishita Kishore, a resident of Jalvayu Vihar in Greater Noida, secured the top rank across the country, making her the first-ranked candidate. The commission recommended a total of 933 candidates for appointment in the Civil Services Examination 2022. Ishita Kishore, bearing Roll No. 5809986, holds the first position in the selected candidates' list.

Ishita pursued her undergraduate studies in Economics at Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. During her graduation, she opted for Political Science and International Relations as her optional subjects. Following her academic pursuits, Ishita worked as a financial advisor in a multinational company. However, her ambition to join the Indian Administrative Service propelled her towards the Civil Services Examination, leading her to prepare for the UPSC exams. This achievement marks her success in the third attempt at the Civil Services Examination, having previously been unable to qualify for the prelims in her first two attempts.

Ishita dedicated an average of 42 to 45 hours per week to her studies. Notably, she showcased her sporting talent by participating in the national-level football tournament Subroto Cup in 2012, where she captained her team. In addition, Ishita possesses artistic skills and specializes in Bihar's renowned Madhubani painting, which she learned from her mother and grandmother.

In an interview with Cityspidey, Ishita expressed her emotions, stating, "While I had hoped for success, securing the first position in the merit list comes as a delightful surprise to me. I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career, but I had to determine the type of job I wanted to undertake. I had several options, such as pursuing an MBA or a Master's degree or joining the civil services. After careful consideration, I chose civil services because it provides me with the opportunity to contribute to the country. Coming from a family with an Air Force background, I have always had a strong sense of responsibility towards my nation. Civil services felt like the right platform for me. This decision was not made hastily but after much contemplation."

Ishita Kishore's remarkable achievement highlights her dedication, perseverance, and commitment towards her goal of serving the nation through the Indian Administrative Service. Her success story serves as an inspiration to aspiring civil servants and reinforces the notion that with determination and hard work, dreams can indeed be realized.
