The RWA of Surya Vihar, a society in Sector 21 of Gurgaon, organised a free medical check-up for the residents in association with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Rotary Club on February 5.

About 50 reputed doctors of the city had come for the camp. Free medicines were also distributed. More than 250 residents had come for medical check-ups. Mammograms were done for 25 female residents.

IMA President Dr Anil Hans was happy to see the positive response of the residents. He said, "We gave special attention to female patients, as breast cancer is quite common now. We had a special mammography van. Blood pressure, lipid profile and bone-density tests were also done, and spot reports were given to the patients.”

RWA president Sonu Yadav said, "This was a great step and many people benefited from the camp. Particular attention was paid to female patients. I am thankful to all the doctors who came for the camp.”

Monika Dhanda, one of the residents, said, "I came for routine tests, but they offered to do a mammogram. Such camps should be organised more frequently.”
