United India Apts managing committee presents development report

At a general body meeting held on March 12, the managing committee of United India Apartments, a residential society in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension, presented its report on developments in the society before residents.

The committee also discussed its plans for development work in 2017-18. More than 100 residents attended the meeting at the society’s community hall.

Speaking about the development work done in the last six months, Bhuwan Singh, general secretary of the society, pointed out six areas: security, the Residents Community Welfare scheme, Niwas Samwad, electricity and water, repair and maintenance.

Niwas Samwad is a resident dialogue unit that has been set up in the society to get residents’ opinion on development issues.

Singh said that the committee had formed a Residents Community Welfare scheme under which if a resident meets with an untoward incident, the committee will provide financial support.

“There was a demand from residents to increase the lighting of the common area in the society. Therefore we installed six high-capacity LED lights there,” Singh added.

Purusottam Bhatt, president of the managing committee, said, “To get feedback from residents, we initiated our first Niwas Samwad, in which many residents participated. We have received several valuable suggestions on issues such as better lighting of common areas, fire safety systems, purity of water, more benches for residents and parking-related issues.”
