Residents of various societies in Sector 137, Noida, heaved a sigh of relief on April 20 when Noida Authority began supplying water to them.

While Gulshan Vivante, a residential society, has started getting the supply, other societies to benefit from the development are Purvanchal Royal Park, Paras Tierea, Exotica Fresco, Paramount Floraville, Ajnara Daffodil and Blossom County.

K Malik, a resident of Gulshan Vivante, told City Spidey, “We have been consuming ground water having high TDS [total dissolved solids] levels. The long wait for the water supply has come to an end. We’ve been demanding the service for quite some time.”

City Spidey has also been consistently highlighting the issue. As assured to City Spidey earlier, RK Goyal, project engineer with the Authority, kept his word.

Goyal said, “After completion of the patch works in the underground pipelines, the Authority conducted a trial for a week. The pipelines are ready to use and the supply has begun.”

The sector has around 10,000 residents who were forced to rely on ground water due to incomplete supply pipelines. Residents had been raising the issue and had even met Deepak Agarwal, former CEO of the Authority, in January 2017. Agarwal had promised them water supply by the end of February, but the issue was resolved now.
