FORWAS (Federation of RWAs), of Sector 9, has been actively raising issues related to civic amenities of sectors 8 and 9.

The managing committee of FORWAS recently held a meeting at Bhrigu Apartments in Sector 9 with the newly elected councillor of the area, Sushma Godra, and her husband, Ravinder.

Maintenance of neighbourhood parks, construction of a community centre, sanitation, use of service lanes by heavy vehicles and stray dogs were some of the tabled concerns.

KS Bhati, president of  FORWAS and Ganpati Apartments in Sector 9, said, “There are several problems in the sector that need to be urgently addressed by the civic bodies. There have been allegations of increasing dog bites in the area; there are also heavy vehicles using the service lanes of the sector. We've asked the authorities to take up our concerns and do the needful.”

FORWAS general secretary MK Singh told City Spidey, “We basically focussed on all issues related to civic amenities. We asked the councillor to address the issue of garbage disposal in the area as well.”

The councillor, according to FORWAS, assured prompt action on the concerns.
