The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has established a mechanism to approve building plans online.

Applicants, either architects or owners of the house, can register on a link provided on the corporation’s website (mcg.gov.in) under the Town Planning section through a separate URL (a web address). Post registration, the applicant will have to upload all the necessary documents in PDF or JPEG format along with a drawing of the building made in AutoCad software (DXF file) as per the Haryana Building Code 2017.

It is mandatory for the architect to have a membership at the Council of Architecture to submit the building plan.

V Umashankar, MCG commissioner, has appealed to all architects and house owners that whoever desires to receive an approval for their building plans by the civic body must apply online. In case of any difficulty or enquiry, the applicant may contact Sudhir Singh Chauhan, senior town planner, MCG.

The online approval of building plan will be on trial basis from June 13 to June 19 and the applicant may use the link for a trail run. After June 20, hard copies of files will not be accepted by MCG.

Objections and suggestions in this regard can be submitted to Chauhan for the improvement of the system. This facility is aimed at providing a fast track method for the approval of building plans, where the applicants can track the movement of their application. The applicant will receive an SMS on the proceedings of the file when they wish to track its proceedings. The mechanism is also geared towards adding more transparency in the process.
