Today’s cleanliness drive focussed on the stretch between Ashiana Upvan and Shanti Gopal Hospital in Ahinsa Khand II, Indirapuram.
In a second major push to clean the neighbourhood, the Green Team from Ahinsa Khand II conducted the second phase of its cleanliness drive this morning. The first phase of the drive was conducted last Sunday between DPS school and Ashiana Upvan. Today’s cleanliness drive focussed on the stretch between Ashiana Upvan and Shanti Gopal Hospital. Although the drive picked up pace by 8.30 am, it had begun by 8.00 am and lasted for the next three hours.
ALL DECKED UP: Members started arriving as early as 8 am
Apartment Owners Associations of the societies on the stretch roped in their society staff to assist in the drive while the garbage which was collected from the drive was scooped up by tractor-trolleys provided by GDA’s maintenance agency.
Speaking to City Spidey, Malay Goyal and Devanshi Goyal, father-daughter duo from Ashiana Greens maintained that it was the residents' social responsibility to keep their their neighbourhood clean.

Similar views were shared by Sanjeev Sharma from Raison Armor Homes. Sharma said the Green Team members would not rest till the neigbourhood was completely free from garbage. “A little bit of participation from the residents of the neighbourhood can change its face in moments,” Sharma added.
Members maintained that they were set to conduct more such drives in the coming days.
