Jaipuria Sunrise Greens, a residential society in Ahinsa Khand 1, Indirapuram, got its new AOA body on Monday. The election of the board members took place on Sunday, April 17, and was conducted in the presence of election officers DK Maurya, Alok Kumar and Mohit Mishra. However, the event saw a low voter turnout. Only 130 of the 400 households registered with the AOA — about 32 per cent — turned up for voting.
Mishra, who is also the president of HRC Professional Hub AOA, told City Spidey that the election took place in accordance with the UP Apartment Act 2010, and was a peaceful event.
On Monday, Ravindra Saini was elected as president, SK Chaudhry as vice-president, Ashok Tyagi as general secretary, Navneet Viz as treasurer, Sonal Jain as joint secretary and Alok Rastogi as joint treasurer. This came a week after the election of new AOA board members Shri Pal Singh, Himanshu Govil and Sumal Pal. The Act says AOA posts have to be filled within ten days of electing the executive body.
Saini, chosen as president for a second term, told City Spidey that he would continue pursuing pending issues such as the society’s painting and maintenance work. “Also on the agenda is taking a complete handover of the society from the builder,” he said.
Singh, one of the new board members, said that residents and the AOA were involved in constant follow-ups with the GDA and the builder Jaipuria Group to get a complete maintenance handover. "We had also filed a writ petition at the Allahabad High Court about the issue," he added.
Maintenance of the gym, swimming pool and the clubhouse was also on the AOA's priority list.
