The traffic congestion along the stretch of road from Nizamuddin bridge to Akshardham flyover has suddenly become a lot more bearable for commuters. They clearly attribute this to the changed landscape.

The replica of the Qutub Minar between the lanes near the bridge is an arresting visual relief. After crossing this, commuters are greeted by water fountains. The pavements are filled with vendors selling flowers and saplings. Talking to our City Spidey correspondent, a commuter said, "The vibrant hues of the assorted blooms have definitely added to the visual appeal of the newly constructed road, which is part of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway."  Finally, commuters are greeted by paintings of historical monuments on the walls of the Akshardham flyover.

The saplings are a varied mix of flowering and non-flowering plants.
