Boy falls off terrace in I'puram... Are monkeys to be blamed?

A fifteen year old boy fell off the terrace of a three storied building in Shipra Sun City Phase 1 of Ghaziabad today, as he was trying to evade the attack of a group of monkeys. Ashish Nayak, the victim is a resident of Flat 11/17 on Cassia Road of Shipra Suncity Phase 2 and was playing with his friends on the terrace of the Phase 1 building. While trying to escape from the primates, Ashish fell through the shaft of the building and landed on the ground floor while colliding with the pipelines running through the shaft.

“From what we have learnt so far, Ashish was playing on the terrace with three of his friends when a group of monkeys appeared and started chasing them. He fell through the shaft and landed on the ground,” said RC Baliyan, president of Sun City Phase 2 RWA.

The incident took place at around 5.30 pm in the evening. A grievously injured Ashish was spotted by Sushil, a staff of the Central Security Force (CISF) who was at the building to visit one of his seniors. Sushil rushed the boy to the nearby Shanti Gopal Hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Sources at Shanti Gopal Hospital said that the condition of the boy was critical. Ashish has suffered multiple fractures due to the fall and is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
