Residents cook-up a storm at Eros Sampoornam: Sampoornam not sampoorn

Hundreds of residents of Eros Sampoornam, a housing society in Noida Extension, on Saturday protested in the society premises alleging that the flats in the society are not worth living in.

Residents of the society came out with their gas stoves, cylinders and kitchen utensils in the society premises, following which they gathered and demonstrated against the difficulties of living in the society. Residents said that the condition of the flats is pathetic, so in order to demonstrate they have decided to cook outside their flats. They also alleged that whenever they tried to raise their voice against the builder in the past, they received death threats from the builders.

Manish, a resident told City Spidey, "Dirty water is being supplied to the society. Apart from this, no security arrangements have been made by the builder. There are no CCTVs and only a few security guards have been appointed. Due to the short height of the boundary wall, there are frequent incidents of robbery in the society."

Poonam Tiwari, another resident, added, “The biggest negligence is in the fire safety area, which was seen a week ago in the society. A fire broke out in a flat of the society but the firefighting systems were not working properly."

She also raised a question to Greater Noida Authority asking them on what basis the occupancy and completion certificates were given to the builder if the firefighting system were not working and the quality of the material used for construction was not good.

Residents complained that even the elevators are not working properly and the residents get stuck in the life on a regular basis. They also added that the builder has installed the DG set (Diesel Generator) in open, which is a gross violation of NGT (National Green Tribunal) rule. They complained that the state government has changed but the behaviour of builders has not as the Yogi government has not done anything to put an end to the buyers-residents problems.

When City Spidey tried to reach the builders for their comments, no one picked the phone calls.
