Noida: Robbers snatch Rs 8.2 lakh at busy marketplace; law & order exposed
In an incident which exposes the law and order situation in one of the most prominent cities of Uttar Pradesh, a 25-year-old software professional was robbed in broad daylight in Sector 18 of Noida. Two bike-borne miscreants snatched bag which was carrying Rs 8.2 lakh.
“He had withdrawn Rs 8 lakh 20 thousand from the Sector's ICICI branch and was waiting for a cab, when two bike-borne miscreants, snatched the bag of cash from him and fled the spot, said police.
Arun Kumar Singh, SP City, told City Spidey that the incident happened around 12.30 pm and the victim has been identified as Vipin Roy who works in a software company in Sector 82.
“Police have registered a case under the relevant sections of loot and robbery. According to police, the accused came on a bike and their faces were covered with clothes,” added Singh.
This kind of shocking robbery in broad daylight reveals the law and order situation in Noida where the criminals executed their robbery at the most prominent commercial hub of the city.
Shopkeepers of the area are blaming the police for lack of security and patrolling in the area.
Ajay Pal Sharma, SSP, Gautam Budh Nagar, told City Spidey that the incident took place while the victim was talking on the phone and waiting for the cab.
“We have constituted a team to nab the accused and are inspecting the CCTV footage recovered from the area. Soon, the accused will be behind the bars,” SSP said.
On April 5, the same type of incident reported from the same spot in Sector 18. In that case, police arrested five persons on April 12 for falsely claiming robbery of Rs 8 lakh. These people alleged that their money was robbed just outside the bank from where they had withdrawn it.
