In an effort to boost community policing, Dwarka Police has circulated a still from a video footage of two thieves involved in a theft at Apoorva Apartments in Sector 5. The CCTV videos were sent to the police by the residents for quicker identification.

The videos have been circulated by the residents as well. As expected, the videos and the photograph have gone viral.

The photograph was shared by an officer of Dwarka South police station on various residents’ WhatsApp groups and police mitra groups [groups involving citizens and area police].

SHO of Dwarka South Police Station, Ashok Kumar, who shared the picture, said, "We have circulated the photograph so that the community can help in identifying them. The incident happened day before yesterday, and we are trying to nab the culprits.”

One of the messages that accompanied the video circulated by the residents read: “Dear friends, I live in Apoorva Apartments in Sector 5, Dwarka. Unfortunately, there have been two thefts in C block of the society. They targeted cash and jewellery. Society has circulated CCTV coverage of the elevator, where the faces of the culprits are very clear. The police suspects a gang is working and few other incidents have also been reported. I am forwarding the CCTV footage here with a hope that security officers in your societies may perhaps be warned to be more alert while allowing entry. If anyone knows, or had interaction with, these two, [you] may kindly let us know so that information could be passed on to the police. Thanks and regards.”
