The residents of Noida Extension conducted a candle march against the upcoming landfill site at Sector 123 on Wednesday evening.
Further, they offered support to the protesters of sectors 117-122 and nearby villages who have been involved in protests against the landfill since the past few days.
Residents of different high rises of Noida Extension gathered at Gaur City to display their anger against the authority. They claimed that no dumpyard should be built near residential areas, as it will become a serious health hazard for them in the future.
Anjani Kumar, a resident of Exotica Dream Ville society, Noida Extension, said that when we heard that a landfill site is being constructed at the recreational green area of Sector 123, we decided to oppose it.
"We will take appropriate action in this matter and are already holding discussions with legal advisors," Kumar added.
Vikas Kumar, a resident of Panchsheel Greens society told City Spidey that we want ten to twelve people from every society to join the protests against the landfill site.
"We will hold a meeting at the Palm Olympia society today night to discuss our future course of action. Further, we will conduct a protest against the Noida Authority on Saturday at the landfill site," Kumar said.TAGS: Noida extension residents conduct candle march against landfill / Candle march by Noida extension residents / Candle march / Noida extension residents oppose landfill site at Sector 123 / Protests against landfill site at Noida Sector 123 / Noida Extension residents protest / Landfill site at Sector 123 / Landfill site / Gaur City / Noida Extension / Noida authority / Noida / Noida news
