Here are the top four City Spidey picks from the National Capital Region (NCR):

Noida

Students accused of ragging suspended, victim quits: Even as students of Class XII, accused in a case of hostel ragging, were suspended by DPS Noida, one of the two victims quit the school. The Class XI student, who was to be hospitalised along with one of his classmates after the incident, was so traumatised by the experience within a week of his stay in the hostel that he was reluctant to continue in the school. The 15-year-old had taken admission earlier this month. Meanwhile, his 16-year-old classmate returned to the school and joined classes.

Students demand re-examination, varsity says no: Gautam Budh University (GBU) students of M Phil in Psychology have demanded rescheduling of their exam. The students had, earlier, boycotted their final exams, accusing the department's dean of favouritism. The university administration rejected the demand and advised the students to appear for the exam after three months as a case of "backlog".

CBSE intervention sought to resolve fee hike issue: In the wake of parents’ repeated complaints about "arbitrary" fee hikes by private schools, the district administration has sought the intervention of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It called on the board to constitute a committee to look into the allegations and conduct an audit of the tainted schools.

Gurgaon

Sex-determination racket busted: With the arrest of eight people, including a woman, from a clinic in Ghaziabad, the police on Wednesday claimed to have unearthed an inter-state sex-determination racket. Apart from Haryana, the gang was active in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The accused used to take customers from the four states to a nondescript private clinic in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, and carry out sex-determination tests.
