Durga Puja is just around the corner, and the residents of Dwarka are all set to celebrate the festivities with zeal and enthusiasm.
Puja samitis and Bengali associations in the sub-city are busy giving final touches to the pandals and programme layouts.
One of the biggest puja celebrations in Dwarka is being organised at EPDP CGHS (Dakshinayan Apartments) in Sector 4. Animesh Palit, the convenor of Dakshinayan Puja Committee, said, “We will start the celebrations from October 14. Our pandal’s theme this year is Dakshineswar Kalibari Temple in Kolkata and festivities are themed around Ramakrishna Paramahansa.”
In other celebrations, Bangla Samaj is organising the puja at Sector 6 DDA Ground, while Deepanvita (a Bengali group) is organising the puja in Sector 22. Another group, Aaikotan, is organising the festivities near Modern Convent School in Sector 4. Aagomoni (a group of Bengalis from Sectors 13 and 14) will be responsible for the celebrations at Sector 14.
Besides Durga Puja, Dwarka will also organise Ramleela celebrations at three places in Sectors 10, 11 and 13 from October 9 to 19.
Dandiya nights will also be held across the sub-city. Cultural organisation ‘Garba in the City’ will celebrate the Dandiya night at Sector 13. Guru Apartments in Sector 6 will also organise a Dandiya and Garba night tomorrow.TAGS: Durga Puja / Dwarka / Puja samite / Bengali associations / Dakshinayan Apartments / Sector 4
