Residents of Mecon Apt hold signature campaign against 'hazardous' mobile tower

Residents of Mecon Apartment, a high rise society in Sector 62, on Sunday held a signature campaign against the installation of a mobile tower by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

Around 70 residents came forward to express their solidarity against the tower, installed facing the society.

Talking to City Spidey, one of the residents Vinod Kumar said, "The radiation from the tower is so high that it is affecting people's health living in the society. My daughter often complains about a headache when she is inside the home or within the apartment but as soon as she moves out of it, she feels fine. So it is a serious concern which should be looked upon."

The agitated people have demanded that this tower should be relocated from the present location to its opposite side where there is greenery and no human habitation.

City Spidey tried to contact Anuj Dayal, spokesperson of the DMRC, in this regard but he did not respond to the calls made.

The mobile tower is installed at the Fortis Hospital Metro station, Noida.
