Noida: AOA files complaint against deficient power supply at Mahagun Moderne

The Apartment Owners Association (AOA) of Mahagun Moderne, a luxury residential society in Sector 78, Noida, on Thursday lodged a complaint with RK Rana, Chief Engineer, PVVNL, against the developer for deficient power supply.

They have also urged the PVVNL to order an audit of the power supply account.

The society, which has 2,663 flats in total, requires 15,000 KVA load of power supply to meet the demand. But as of now, it is being supplied only 4,500 KVA load, which is very less than what is required for uninterrupted supply.

Sandeep Singh Chauhan, President of AOA, and complainant said, “The supply lines trip frequently causing inconvenience to all residents in the society. The chances of transformer burning is quite high as they are overloaded due to high consumption. They may explode any time.”

The complainant told the Chief Engineer that the developer allegedly misused the power. The power is being supplied to commercial shops in Mahagun Mart, which is just adjacent to the society.

He said, “The connection is for residential consumption. But commercial shops are being supplied from the same connection in violation of the rules.”

Chauhan demanded from the engineer that account of electricity supply should be audited to stop the illegal consumption. It is also required for holding the developer responsible for the loss to the power distribution company.

But the developer refuted the charge levied by residents body of illegal consumption of power.

Spokesperson with Mahagun, the realty company, which developed the society, told that he is not aware of the complaint filed. He said, “I guess, it was PVVNL which installed meters in the each commercial shops in the mart. Hence, the logic behind lodging complaint needs to be understood.”
