There is a great news for the commuters who frequently travel from Noida City Centre to Greater Noida West. For them, passing Sector 71 intersection has always been a great task due to big traffic congestions.
Now, addressing the pertinent issue, the Noida Authority has embarked on developing a six lane underpass at the intersection. It is expected to get completed in 18 months from now.
The estimated cost of the development of the underpass is Rs 56 crore.
At present, commuters, heading towards Greater Noida West, cover a mile extra to reach to their destination as the intersection has been blocked.
It was done for freeing the bottleneck at the intersection where vehicles come from four different directions. People used to face frequent chaos and long jam on roads leading to Noida Phase-II from Sector 62 and from Sector 121 to Noida City Centre.
According to official source with Noida Authority, these traffic issues will be solved after development of underpass. He said, “The ritual of 'Bhumi Poojan' held on Thursday and we are likely to put barricades to start digging works for the underpass.”
Residents of sectors like 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, and 79, which are densely populated residential pockets of Noida, will benefit from the completion of underpass at the intersection.
Their problems in reaching to the City Centre will be solved. Presently, they, along with commuters from Greater Noida West, have been riding or driving an extra mile to reach City Centre. This problem will be solved once the development of underpass gets finished.
