The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) on Thursday lodged an FIR with the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court against reality majors for the violation of environment norms.
As many as 11 developers have been booked under the Environment Protection Act 1986. This move is going to the first big step by UPPCB board against the developers, who have been violating the environment law.
Dr Anil Kumar Singh, Regional Officer with UPPCB, Noida said that earlier the real estate developers were fined and were told to comply with the environment norms. But as they failed to initiate any corrective actions that complying with the rules by National Green Tribunal (NGT) for the protection of environment.
He said that the board has finally moved to the court to book them as they were not following the previously issued orders. An FIR was registered against 11 developers having projects in Noida.
Developers against whom FIR was registered are Supertech, Gardenia Gateway, Ajnara India Pvt Ltd, Sector 134, Brick Rise developers pvt. ltd, Logic Infomedia Pvt Ltd, and Jaycon infrastructure limited.
