They can buy bottled water for drinking but it is a big challenge to manage the household work with the supply shortage.
Residents of HIG flats in Noida’s Sector 105 have been facing the dearth of water supply and fear that the problem might be escalated further as the Noida Industrial Development Authority is rectifying technicality in the supply line.
Pradeep Saxena, President of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of pocket A, Sector 105, said that no water was supplied to them since yesterday (Sunday) but they managed since they had stored water in containers and individual tanks which were also running out now.
The residents said that they can buy bottled water for drinking but it is a big challenge to manage the household work with the supply shortage.
UN Kaushik, a resident of the society said, "I have no water as my tank lies dry. Though, big water cans can be brought from the market, managing water for bath and washing is difficult.''
Though, the Noida Industrial Development Authority deployed a water tanker to supply water but the residents complained that the tank was not sufficient to manage the shortage.
Saxena said, "There are over 500 families residing in pocket A and in the Judge colony and all are facing the same problems. But the authority supplied only one tanker through which the consumption demand cannot be met.''
He alleged, ''The Noida authority staff is giving especial treatment in water distribution too. They are filling overhead tank of an ex bureaucrat, who is also resident of the society, but they denied to give the same facility to all other residents of the society''.
