Indirapuram: Tenant at Amrapali Village fires gunshot in presence of security

In a shocking incident, a resident of Amrapali Village, a highrise in Indirapuram, fired gunshots in the air at the society's gate in the wee hours of Sunday.

The incident occurred in the presence of two security guards and a security supervisor, who did not try to stop the resident.

After learning about the incident, the RWA of the society complained to the police and asked them to take necessary action against the resident.

The accused, Harshpal Singh, is a tenant in the society, who lives with his family. "Around 3.00 am he came outside with his guests and fired seven rounds from his licensed pistol," told Amit Sharma, secretary of the RWA.

Considering the gravity of the event, the RWA has removed the security supervisor along with two other guards who were on duty when the incident took place.

"Besides, we have also asked the flat owner to terminate Singh's contract. Flashing a firearm is a threat to other residents," said Deepak Kumar, President of the RWA.

Police said that that firing in the open is against Arms License Act and they have submitted a request to cancel the license of the accused.
