Noida Authority cancels allotment of defaulters owning Rs 156 crores

The Noida Authority on Wednesday cancelled the allotment of properties leased to three nationalised banks and a hotel for non-payment of rent dues of over Rs 156 crore, with SBI alone failing to pay around Rs 144 crore.

The authority had reviewed the allocation of the assets and had served a notice to the defaulters to pay the dues but after they failed to do so, on August 30 their allotment or lease was cancelled.

The defaulters--State Bank of India (located in B-138, Sector 2); Canara Bank (Noida Authority sector 6);  Vijaya Bank (Noida Authority sector 6); Gopala hotel (Sector 15); and KK Mishra s/o RP Mishra (Sector 3) jointly have to pay the due of Rs 156,91,81,720.

Approximately, the Canara Bank has to pay Rs 6.16 crore, followed by Rs 3.32 crore by Gopala hotel, Rs 1.67 crore by Vijaya Bank and Rs 1.61 crore by KK Mishra.

After the allotment was canceled, Rs 59 lakh was submitted by Vijaya Bank and a demand draft of Rs 2.33 crore was given by Canara Bank in the Noida authority office. Therefore, a revenue of Rs 2.93 crore was recovered by the authority.
