Gurugram: Residents bid adieu to 'Bappa' with fanfare

The seven-day long Ganesh Utsav, which was organised by Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Samiti at community centre in Sector 27, was culminated on Sunday with much fanfare.

The devotees bid adieu their favourite  Bappa echoing 'Ganpati Bappa Morya! Pudhchya varshi lavkar ya' (O Ganesha! Please come again next year). Drenched in colours, devotees were seen dancing to the beats of traditional drums. 

In the morning, the people from the Marathi community and others gathered at the community centre for Havan to offer their prayers. Thereafter, a colourful and vibrant procession was carried out for the Visarjan (immersion). Later, Prasad was distributed among the residents.

The celebration started on September 2 with Ganesh Chaturthi and witnessed 700-800 people visiting the pandal to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
