To solve traffic and parking issues in Indirapuram, the police administration is thinking over turning four spots as public parking zones. To assist the police administration in this process, Indirapuram based Federation of Apartment Owners Association (FedAOA) has come forward with its suggestions.

Alok Kumar, president of FedAOA, said that four parking zones near high-rise areas will be surveyed by police administration and members of his federation on Tuesday. Deepak Sharma, SHO Indirapuram Police Station, and Traffic Inspector, Paramhans Tiwari, along with Kumar and other members of his federation will join the survey.

"We will carry out a survey in Vaibhav, Ahinsa and Shakti Khand in Indirapuram to decide about the parking zones," Kumar added.

Currently, four areas are proposed to be developed as parking spots. They are:

1. Windsor Street behind Parsvnath Majestic Homes

2. Approach road between Shipra Srishti Society and Indirapuram Habitat Centre

3. Area near D Mall

4. Area near Orange County Society

However, proposal for turning these areas into parking zone is tentative. "While these areas have a capacity to hold many vehicles, but nothing is confirmed yet," Kumar said.

"It's possible that during the survey, we may finalize some other areas. However, possibility for turning proposed areas into parking spot is higher," Kumar added.

Though the police administration can designate areas for public parking, a final nod from the Ghaziabad Development Authority is required.

Besides, GDA and Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) will also mark areas to develop as parking spots in Indirapuram. CRRI is preparing a second phase of its report. The report will have suggestions to tackle vehicular congestion in the next 30 years. Soon, a joint team of GDA and CRRI will mark the areas to develop them into parking spots in Indirapuram.

Also, GDA is also going to develop a multilevel parking near Swarna Jayanti Park in Indirapuram. The parking lot will be spread over an area of 1800 square meters and will have capacity to accommodate 200 four-wheeler and 100 two-wheeler.
