The children of Chitrakoot Apartments, in Sector 22, Dwarka, attended an educational session on horticultural awareness in and around their society. The event was organised by Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKS), a social organisation, on Tuesday.

They interacted with Mehboob Ali, section officer (SO) of the area, DDA, who shared his knowledge of local plants. The children also got a lesson in flora identification at the neighbourhood park.

PB Mishra, a resident of Chitrakoot Apartments and secretary of SDKS, said, "We organised the session to sensitise children on the environment and its conservation. More such programmes will soon be organised for children of other societies as well."

SS Mann, vice-president of SDKS and a resident of Sadbhavna Apartments, Sector 23, added, "We are happy to see that there is so much enthusiasm in the younger generation for the environment. We are also planning to take a trip down to a water body in the neighbourhood during the monsoon, when it is full to the brim. The more we bring the next generation closer to nature, the closer we get to saving the environment."
