With an aim to make city free from plastic, they picked up waste dumped at roadsides, grounds and residential pockets.

To commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Noida Authority on Wednesday organised a plog run in the city. Residents of different sectors enthusiastically participated in the plog run. 

Individual residents, officials from authority and office bearers of different resident welfare associations (RWAs) all took part in the run.

What was special about the run is that while running the participants picked plastic waste from hundred locations in the city. Hence, the occasion served as a crusade against plastic as well with runners setting an example by clearing the entire area of the plastic discards along with other waste strewn all over, alongside the road, grounds and residential pockets.

An event was also organised at Noida Stadium to felicitate all the residents and organisations who had voluntarily contributed to clean India mission. They were presented with awards for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in their respective residential pockets as well as their city. Awarded were also given for contribution to a mass movement and cleanliness is service.

To organise the plog run effectively, the authority had made elaborate arrangements for the participants. It had formed over one hundred teams to conduct the plog run in different residential and industrial sectors.
