The club members have been celebrating Daan Utsav since 2016 by conducting laughter sessions in schools.
Jalvayu Laughter Club, a group of health conscious residents from Sector 21 and Sector 25 in Noida, is all set to observe Daan Utsav (festival of charity) for a week. During the the week, the residents would donate generously for the needy.
The club members have been celebrating the Daan Utsav since 2016 by conducting laughter sessions in schools for underprivileged children in Noida. From the voluntary contributions of the members, gifts are distributed among the children. Teaching aids are also given to the schools.
The drive is an opportunity to not only donate but also to address pertinent issues for societal development.
Daan Utsav or the “Joy of Giving Week” is India’s festival of giving. In its tenth year, the festival will be celebrated from October 2 to 8. It aims to bring the individuals together to celebrate the concept of giving.
Millions of people from all sections of society, from CEOs to auto-rickshaw drivers, housewives to school children, will participate in the campaign. They would contribute to it by giving their time and money. They would use their skills to bring joy on the faces of needy.
The outline of the programme is as follows:
October 2 - Main function will be organised for 100 underprivileged children. Entertainment programme will be organised which will be based on the life lessons of Mahatma Gandhi by children at the JVCC venue.
October 3 - Around 100 children will participate at Sai School in Sector 21.
October 4 - Around 30 girls will participate at Sai Pragati Kendra in Sector 40.
October 4 - Around 500 children will participate at Govt Primary & Junior High school in Sector 31.
October 5 - Around 200 children will participate at Titliyan in Sector 19.
October 6 - Around 100 children will participate at Dadda Foundation School in Sector 67.
October 7 - Around 70 children will participate at Informal School at J-Block Park in Sector 25.
