Eco-friendly Durga immersion in Noida

Keeping environment conservation in mind, residents of Noida opted to immerse Maa Durga in an eco-friendly manner. They immersed Durga idols in artificial ponds.

Helping them in an eco-friendly immersion, the Noida Industrial Development Authority had made several artificial ponds across many residential sectors in the city.

An official from the authority said that this year as many as 70 committees organised Durga Puja in the city, besides individuals and societies. For the convenience of the residents, the authority made ponds in several residential sectors.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) had put a blanket ban on immersion of idols in Yamuna river to reduce water pollution. To help the residents stick to the rules, the Noida Authority constructed artificial ponds.
