To ensure safety of women in the area, the women security personnel have been given scooties at Vivek Vihar police station in East Delhi. The move is aimed to check the rising crime against women such as molestation of school girls.
The eve-teasing incidents are rampant in the area. Some boys are often seen stalking the girls outside school. Several cases of molestation had come to police's notice in the past.
Last week, a complaint of harassement was lodged by a school girl. Such kind of cases are reported on a regular basis from the area. Eastern District Police took this initiative to provide scooty to women personnel.
Talking to CitySpidey, a senior police officer said, “A register is made to file complaint. Women police personnel will be on the spot to help school girls. It has been assured to girls that thier name would not be disclosed at any condition.”
