Serial burglaries in four flats reported from DDA flats in Dwarka

Dwarka: An incident of serial burglaries happened at Pocket 1, DDA flats in Sector 9 in Dwarka on the intervening night of Saturday/Sunday. According to the RWA of the society, the incident happened after 12 am. The burglary was captured on the CCTV cameras.

Thieves broke into four locked flats and took away valuables. They also failingly tried to break the door of another flat. Their attempt was foiled because the residents of the flat were alert.

President of the RWA, Dr KS Kardam said, “The burgled flats were locked and the owners were not there. They also attempted to break the door of another flat which was unsuccessful because of alert flat residents. As they heard noises from inside the flat, they fled away. Fortunately, no incident happened there.”

“We have reported the incident to police in a letter written to DCP Dwarka. In the letter, we have mentioned three flats only because till then, we were not aware about other flats. Police team visited here and the report has already been written,” he said.

According to the RWA president, the incident happened in the flat 23, 35, 173 and 208. In flat number 175, thieves tried to break the door.

One of the victims of the burglary, Ayush Kumar said, “Theft took place in four flats. It seems that thieves were professional and entered only in the houses which were locked with no person residing there. This should be investigated and the thieves must be caught.”
