Tree collapse causes major power failure in Sushant Lok I, Gurgaon

Residents of Sushant Lok 1 have been suffering a major power cut that has already lasted 12 hours. The cause of the power crisis has been a tree and two electricity poles that collapsed due to the rain this morning.

The tree located near Sushant Vatika park and two poles collapsed to the ground causing a massive power failure in the area.

"The power went out the moment it started raining," said Sudhir Sachdeva, founder of Sachdeva Foundation. "We later realised that it was due to the tree collapsing with the two electricity poles."

Profac, the maintenance agency, started work on removing the tree to restore power almost immediately.

“Our inverter batteries have run out of juice," said Ashish Shah, a resident of the sector. "If it continues any longer, we will be unable to pump up water. Hope they are able to restore power soon."

Speaking to City Spidey, Ravi Saini, general manager, Profac, said, “We have removed the tree. New poles will be put up and the wiring will be replaced soon. Power should be restored by late evening."
