Gates of seven metro stations closed in view of CAA protest

New Delhi: In view of the protest in the National Capital against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), 2019, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has closed the entry and exit gates of seven metro stations. 

Gates of Chawri Bazar, Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate, Jaffrabad, Maujpur-Babarpura and Jamia Millia Islamia are closed. 

"Entry and exit gates of Chawri Bazar, Lal Quila and Jama Masjid are closed. Trains will not halt at these stations," the DMRC tweeted. 

"Entry and exit gates of Delhi Gate, Jaffrabad and Maujpur-Babarpur are closed. Trains will not be halting at this station," DMRC tweeted. 

Traffic movement is closed on Old Iron Bridge, Pushta Road and carriageway from Seelam Pur to Yamuna Vihar due to demonstration. The Delhi police has advised people to avoid these stretches.
