Indirapuram: In a move to keep Indirapuram clean and green, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) had announced penalty on throwing garbage in green belts and central verges in the area. But a month after the decision, the green belt, popularly known as green lungs, in Indirapuram are in a shambles.

However, the authority no longer seems to be concerned about the situation. Garbage, encroachment, broken grills point to the callous attitude of the authority towards maintenance of the green belt.

The GDA had said that a penalty of Rs. 5,000 would be imposed on the litterbugs. But none has been penalised so far.

Despite the fine instituted by the GDA, the area is encroached by launderers

Broken grills and the debris of the broken divider, which caused many accidents, lying in the middle of the road was removed by locals.
