Greater Noida: The police on Thursday arrested three men allegedly involved in car and bike thefts in the Greater Noida West area. 

The accused were identified as Salman, present resident of Bisrakh, Abdul Sheikh, present resident of Ghaziabad and Hameed Banjara. They were arrested during checking at Habaitpur area of the city on early Thursday morning. 

Nine mobiles phones along with a tablet and four stolen motorcycles were recovered from them.

As per officials from Bisrakh police station, the gang was active in the area and had carried out several gadget thefts by breaking the car's windows or windshield while the owners had parked and gone away.

During interrogation, they revealed that they used to do recce around offices, market, highrises and residential colonies in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Delhi and then steal gadgets like mobile phones, laptops etc and cash from cars after breaking their glass. 

Similarly, they used to lift bikes from the busy market areas of these cities.

A case under section 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 414 (assisting in concealment of stolen property ), 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property), 392 (punishment for robbery), 379 (punishment for theft) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been booked against the accused.
