GreNo: Security guards thrash two residents at AVJ Heights

Greater Noida: Security guards, who were deployed to ensure the safety of residents in AVJ Heights, a highrise in Greater Noida, thrashed two residents on Wednesday night. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the society gate.

Three persons, dressed in uniform of security guard, were seen beating a person, while the person was running to escape.

In a police complaint, Rakesh Kumar and Kripa Shankar, both residents of AVJ Heights, have alleged that they were thrashed by security guards with handle of gun when they were entering into the society around 12.30 am.

Shankar, told CitySpidey that they were coming back after discharging duties at Hero Honda when the incident happened.

“We returned together late night after doing duty as the area is not safe for people moving alone here. As we crossed the society’s gate and reached around 20 meters inside, one of them (security guards) shouted at us asking about our identity. They were talking very rudely. Rakesh, who is my senior at the office, resisted him by telling that they are from the society and asked to talk politely,” he said.

According to Shankar, one of security guards came to them and hurled abusive language and then started beating them badly. “We requested them not to beat us and talk in right way. But they kept on beating us one by one. Meanwhile, I dialled 100 number to call the police. A PCR reached the spot, but till then, they had run away.”

Residents gave a written complaint to the PCR, they were asked to first file a complaint with the society’s management. “The society is being looked after by court-appointed IRP due to some litigation between builder and flat buyers. Next morning, we informed the society and went for medical treatment. Medical report was yet to come,” Shankar added.

Naresh Chand, Estate Manager in AVJ Heights talking to CitySpidey said, “I heard about the incident. If asked, we will provide the details of security guards. I was not present at that time so I can’t say who is at fault. We deploy five to six security guards at gate during night.”

Residents were annoyed with the incidents. Rajeev Rajput, a resident said, “It has become daily nuisance in the society. Residents are being beaten up. The police should take tough action against involved persons so that such incident does not get repeated and residents can feel safe.”
