Gurugram: Raahgiri with a sanitary cause

Gurugram: In an effort to sensitise people about the importance of cleanliness, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) joined hands with Raahgiri Foundation to hold a Raahgiri programme.

The Raahgiri programme was held in the market located in Sector 14 where MCG Councilor Anoop Singh, Assistant Engineer Amit Lathwal, Subhra Puri, Samira Satija from Crockery Bank and Sector 14 RWA President HS Nanda administered the oath of cleanliness to the attendees. They pledged that neither they will use plastic nor let others use it.

Hundreds of residents participated in the Raahgiri on Sunday evening. Children, senior citizens and youth all came and enthusiastically participated in the event.

They created awareness among the masses to keep their surroundings clean and shun the use of plastic.

On the occasion, Assistant Engineer Amit Lathwal informed the citizens that Swachh Survekshan-2020 was being conducted by the Government of India. Citizens should actively participate in the survey and give their feedback about cleanliness.

He said one can give his/her feedback through swachhta app, website of Swachh Bharat Mission or can give missed call on 1969.

School children performed street play to create awareness on cleanliness, while the citizens did Zumba Dance to keep themselves fit.

The event saw the several sports and fitness activities on the road. There were selfie zones where the people captured moments.

A musical flash mob at MGF Metropolitan Mall and City Center Mall motivated the people about cleanliness.
