Gurugram: A delegation of United Association of New Gurugram (UANG) on Tuesday met the newly appointed Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) CEO Sonal Goel seeking better bus network to enhance connectivity in their sectors.
During the meeting with the CEO, they demanded shuttle bus services connecting NH-48 to Pataudi road through Sectors 81-95 and a dedicated bus service which will provide direct connectivity from Sector 95 to Cyber City via IFFCO Chowk metro station.
Praveen Malik, vice-president of the United Association of New Gurugram, said, "We have proposed shuttle services to connect the existing bus route no. 134 and 215 D as a pilot. This will connect the maximum number of societies along with villages in the newly developed sectors."
The proposed route will cover several housing societies and villages including Dhorka village, SARE Homes, Ansal Heights, Shanti Vihar (AWHO), Raheja Navodya, Hayatpur village, Spaze Privy, DLF NTH-90, DLF NTH-86, Dadi Sati Chowk, Badha Village, Circle 4, Vipul Lavnya, Bestech Ananda, Bestech Grandspa, Antriksh Heights, Mapsko Pardise, Mapsko Casa Bella, Vatika Chowk among others.

The residents also demanded a dedicated bus route from Sector 92 to Cyber City via IFFCO chowk for the office goers.
Bhupinder Narula, organisational secretary, UANG said, "In the absence of any public transport we have to rely on carpooling or use our own vehicle which is also not convenient as it results in traffic congestion. Those who don't have any choice end up paying huge sum on cabs. With the increasing population in these sectors, the authority should take our concern promptly."
The residents complain that they are struggling to get connected with the rest of the city due to lack of public transport facility in their vicinity. According to them, several letters have been written to GMCBL for better public transport but not much has been done so far.
Speaking to CitySpidey, a resident lamented that lack of public transport in the area causes wastage of time and energy.
"I moved in here five years ago, but nothing much has been done by the authority to provide better connectivity,” Ashok Malik said.
