Greater Noida: A large quantity of arms and ammunition were seized and a man was arrested by a team from Badalpur police station on Thursday during a raid at an illegal arms factory in the district.

Based on a tip-off, a police team raided a non-functional factory near a graveyard in Dumanikapur, where three alleged criminals were testing guns made in the illegal arms factory.

While, the police arrested Shaukeen, a resident of Meerut, the two other men identified as – Wasim and Jabbar – fled the scene.

During interrogation, Shaukeen told police that the seized arms were to be supplied for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections as the demands are high. The absconding accused are real culprits and are known to be involved in illegal making and distribution of arms in Delhi-NCR.  

The team recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition including three country-made pistol 12 bore, one revolver 32 bore, one half-built pistol 12 bore, 16 pistols 315 bore, two live cartridges 315 bore and one live cartridge 12 bore.

In a similar incident, cops of expressway police station arrested three men along with illegals arms. The men are allegedly involved in several criminal activities in Delhi-NCR.

As per the police, the accused were waiting in a hatchback car on Yamuna Pushta Road in Sector 126 to carry out another criminal act when a police team arrested them.

The men have been identified as – Bablu Kasna, Harpreet Singh and Satendra Pal Singh, all natives of Delhi. The seized arms included a 32 bore pistol, 315 bore pistol and live cartridge and sharp knife.

“Bablu is a wanted criminal with cases of dacoity in several police stations and has also served a term in Tihar jail for robbery and is out on parole,” said a police office.
