Noida: Duo out to commit robbery nabbed after brief gun-battle
Noida: A desperate ‘criminal’, along with his associate, was nabbed by the police after a late-night encounter on Friday. The duo was said to have been about to commit a robbery in phase 2 area here.
The main accused, Keshav, who sustained bullet injuries in the encounter, was rushed to a hospital by the cops while his accomplice, a minor, was taken into custody.
According to the police, Keshav, who hails from Sikandarabad in Bulandshahr, was involved in several robberies in the district.
As per an information received by the police the two were planning to carry out a loot in sector 81 area on the night of Friday. After receiving the tip-off, a patrol team from phase-2 police station came into action and set out to nab them.
During patrolling they spotted them passing by Samsung factory's gate-2 in sector 81 on a motorcycle. Seeing the policemen advancing towards them, the duo ran towards FNG. But as the police personnel could be able to chase them down, finding no escape, the accused opened fire at the policemen.
In the retaliatory firing from the police, Keshav received a bullet wound while no one from the police side was reported to have been injured. Later, the duo was arrested from the D-block area of Sector 80.
One 32-bore pistol, two cartridges, Rs 2400 looted cash and four mobile phones were recovered from Keshav. The minor accused was carrying a knife.
