Ghaziabad: A private firm, VA Tech Wabag, which was assigned the task of maintaining sewage treatment plants (STP) and sewer network of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is planning to launch a call centre by February 15.

Officials were quoted by TOI that arrangements were already made and they were updating the names of localities and colonies in database.

A centralised call centre has been set up in Sector 63, Noida which, apart from Ghaziabad, will cater to other districts like Agra, Bijnor, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur.

The facility of the call centre has already been functional at Agra with toll free number 1800313797979.

An official of the firm said that once the call centre is functional, complaints could be transferred to the zonal officer and the complainants could be made via text messages.

The company will solve the problems related to overflowing and choking sewer lines within 24 hours while for severe problems it will take 3-4 days.

Currently, the firm is maintaining three STPs of GMC and one of Jal Nigam in the city.
